Registered Dietitians (RD) provide Medical Nutrition Therapy which is an essential component of comprehensive health care. Individuals with a variety of conditions and illnesses can improve their health and quality of life by receiving medical nutrition therapy. During the appointment, the registered dietitian counsels individuals on behavior and lifestyle changes required to impact long-term eating habits and health. An RD provides medical nutrition therapy for a variety of diseases and conditions including:
- Cardiovascular disease: hypertension, high cholesterol, congestive heart failure
- GI disorders: celiac disease, Crohn's disease
- Renal disease
- Weight management: overweight/obesity, eating disorders
- Women's health: pregnancy, osteoporosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
A written physician's referral is required. Appointments are available Monday through Saturday.
