The Mercer Health Volunteer Association is pleased to make donations each year to help enhance the services provided within the Mercer Health organization.  Recently, the Volunteer Association approved its 2016 donations, which include:

  • New CPR Training Equipment used for both internal education and community education
  • New Easy Access Chairs for Outpatient Waiting Areas at Mercer County Community Hospital
  • Halo Infant SleepSacks for every newborn at the Childbirth Center

Ohio’s Infant Mortality Rate has been below national average, however, Linda Finke, Childbirth Center Manager at Mercer Health indicates, “With the education that is being done on Safe Sleep and the implementation and support of SleepSacks, we are able to help improve those rates.  Thankfully our rates in the local community have always been good but we want to continue and improve.”
