Mercer Health, in cooperation with the Coldwater and Celina Kiwanis, will be conducting their 13th annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, October 21, at the Coldwater High School Auditeria, from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. A wide variety of screenings and activities have been planned. Everything offered is free and open to the public.
There will be a large number of screenings offered including pre-school readiness, physical development assessments, hearing screenings, general dental screenings, simple visual assessments, education development assessments, and blood pressure checks for children and adults. Skin cancer assessments of face, height/weight checks, and body mass index readings will be offered by Mercer Health as well as body fat analysis for adults.
In addition to the screenings, many safety displays will offer interactive education for the children including electrical, poison, electrical and fire safety. The Fire Safety Smoke House, a fire truck, and an ambulance will all be available for tours. New this year is a prescription drug takeback station.
Organizations offering information include Celina Library, Coldwater Library, Coldwater Creek Alpaca Farm, Coldwater EMS, Coldwater Fire Department, Coldwater Police, Community Sports and Therapy, Cub Scouts, Dr. Kline, DDS, Happy Hearts 4-H, Help Me Grow, Hot Brass Personal Defense, Innergy Fitness, Mercer Health, Mercer County Sheriff's Department, Midwest Electric, Professional Family Eyecare, YMCA and more!
