Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades

Mercer Health’s Mercer County Joint Township Community Hospital has been recognized as a 2023 Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipient by Healthgrades, a leading resource for information about physicians and hospitals. Only 5% of hospitals nationwide are awarded this distinction for outstanding patient experience. Healthgrades evaluates performance by applying a scoring methodology to ten patient experience measures, using data collected with Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey of the hospital’s own patients. Survey questions focus on patients’ perspectives of their care in the hospital, from cleanliness and noise levels in patient rooms to medication explanations and hospital staff responsiveness to patients’ needs. The measures also include whether a patient would recommend the hospital to friends or family and their overall rating of the hospital. This is the second consecutive year Mercer Health has received this prestigious award.

Striving for the Greatest Level of Care

Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) is a national program put in place by the federal government to measure the patients’ perception of the care they received. This data further allows the consumer to compare healthcare services offered in surrounding areas. This page contains information about Mercer Health. In all of these categories, a higher percentage is preferred. It is a one-year compilation that is updated quarterly.

At Mercer Health, we strive to achieve a 100% rating from our patients by not only meeting, but exceeding the expectations of care delivery. Closely monitoring our scores allows us to proactively enhance our processes and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of those served.
