Peri-Operative

The peri-operative (surgery) department at Mercer Health offers a wide variety of surgeries and procedures, including general, orthopedic, gynecological, opthamalogic (eyes), urological (ears, nose & throat), plastic, laser, endoscopy and pain block injections. Both inpatient and outpatient surgeries and procedures are done at Mercer Health, with all patients starting out in our newly renovated Same Day Surgery unit. A few days prior to surgery, patients are brought into the department for anesthesia assessment, teaching, and any testing the surgeon or anesthesia provider may order. If your surgery was done as an outpatient, someone will also contact you a few days after you are home by telephone to check on your progress and answer any questions you may have regarding your progress or care. We have a team of highly competent, experienced and friendly surgeons, anesthesia providers and nurses who strive to make your stay here as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
