| The Mercer Health Materials
Management department consists of Purchasing, Distribution,
Sterile Processing, Print Shop and Biomedical Equipment.
Materials Management is involved in the product selection process. Internally
we are responsible for providing our patients and staff the products they need
when they need them. Externally we are the primary link between suppliers and
Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO’s) Mercer Health’s GPO is Premier.

The Sterile Processing department consists of specially trained and registered
staff that ensure that reusable equipment and instruments are properly decontaminated
and sterilized for safe and effective patient use.
The Print shop designs, manages, and prints our which are in excess of 1300.
In the Biomedical Equipment area Materials Management is responsible for making
sure that all equipment used on patients is safe and has preventative maintenance
checks performed on a regular scheduled basis. Biomed is also responsible for
the repair and tracking of all medical equipment as well.
Mercer Health’s Materials Management is staffed by a group of dedicated
individuals who are committed to providing our patients with high quality, safe
products as well as top notch equipment to ensure that all of your needs are
met while utilizing our facility.
