Organ and Tissue Donation - 20 to 40 minute
overview addressing who can be a donor of tissues and/or organs;
types
of organs/tissues that can be donated; obtaining consent; costs
etc...
Joint Clinic - Held 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of
every month for patients preparing to undergo joint replacement.
ASC "Breast Education Awareness Presentation" - 1.5
to
1 hours educating on breast cancer risks, prevention and Mammography includes
self-breast
examination instruction.
Nutrition Education Presentations - Registered dietitians and registered dietetic
technicians provide offsite educational presentations for all age groups. Topics
currently available include Healthy Dining Out, Healthy Snacking, How to Personalize
Your Food Label, An Eating Disorder Review, Setting the Record Straight: The
Truth About Fad Diets etc...
Body Composition Analysis - Studies show that a high amount of body fat greatly
increases the chance of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other
disabling conditions. A painless procedure that estimates the amount of fat,
water, and lean body mass a person has in their body. Screening on demand for
public or industry.
Outpatient Nutrition Counseling - Registered Dietitians and dietetic technicians
provide teaching for special diets, assisting you and your family to improve
your eating or lifestyle habits. A written physician's order is required. Appointments
are scheduled Monday through Saturday.
Childbirth Center Tour - Tour of the Obstetrics Department, includes the Labor,
Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) Rooms, which provides a home like atmosphere
for the mother, baby and family members.
Mom/Baby Care - Focuses on proper care for the baby and Mom after delivery.
Topics discussed during this one time 2 hour program include breast and bottle
feeding; proper bathing techniques; pain control; c-section, positioning, diet,
potential problems and treatments, pumping, weaning etc...
Lamaze-Prenatal, Childbirth Education Classes - Expectant parents are prepared
for the labor and birth process. Instructors provide information on pregnancy;
breathing, and relaxation techniques; the labor and birth process; and infant
care. Weekly and weekend sessions are available throughout the year.
Refresher Program - For those parents who have already participated in childbirth
classes. A single, three-hour session provides a review in childbirth techniques.
Breast Feeding Program - Offered free to those who plan to use this option
of feeding their new baby. Topics covered by our Nurse Lactation Consultant,
Registered Dietitian, and Breastfeeding Support Specialist include: preparation,
positioning, diet, potential problems and treatments, pumping, weaning and other
helpful hints.
Volunteen Program - An opportunity
for high school students to explore the medical field and/or
offer themselves in community service at the hospital.
Big Brother/Big Sister Program - A 1.5 hour
presentation designed for children 3 years old and over who will be getting
a new brother or sister. Also provides
information about diapering, bottle-feeding, safety, and other important
issues to help them feel like special big brothers and sisters.
Women's Preventive Health Program - Women's
Health Program that provides breast cancer education for women and free
breast examinations, pelvic exams, and Pap
smears pending income level and age criteria are met. Held at Community
Medical Center in Celina, examinations are provided by a physician.

Health Fairs - On demand,
providing health risk screenings, interactive
health displays and health promotion education.
"Community Hospital In Play" Program
- Welcomes and introduces kindergarten
students to the hospital utilizing interactive learning activities from
every hospital department.
Annual Prostate Screening - A free,
4 hour Prostate screening held every September for the men in our community.
Flu Immunization Clinics - Provided for
the community and industries in October and November of each year.
Blood Borne Pathogen Training - A
1 hour training program in accordance
with OSHA Regulations.
CPR Classes For The Public - Held
every other month according to American Safety and Health Institute.
Diabetic Education - Full service diabetes education offered at the Community Medical Center in Celina. Program is American Diabetes Association certified.
Diabetic Support Group - Held the second Monday of the even months at 2:00 p.m. at Community Hospital.
Infant Massage - Proven to aid in the
development of newborns. Our Childbirth Center has certified Infant Massage
Instructors who can teach
the mother techniques
that will help soothe the child and assist in the early development of
the child.
The Postpartum Follow Up Program - Includes
a physical examination along with a review of mom and baby care. This
session also provides answers
on a personal,
one to one basis, to questions mothers typically have about their new
baby.
Welcome Home Program - Provides a free
visit by a registered nurse to the mother's home to aid in improving
the health of young children and families.
They provide
education, resources, and referrals if necessary.
Home Infant Hearing Test - Home
visits provided by Community Hospital Home Nursing Care.
Baby Sitter Training Classes - Classes
offered twice a year for children 10 years and older. Teaches
safety, CPR, First
Aid and caring for children
and infants.
Ohio "Advance Directives" - Include
presentations on Ohio's five Advance Directives: DNR, Living Will, Durable
Power of Attorney,
Organ/Tissue
Procurement and Declaration for Mental Health Treatment. On Demand individual
appointments available.
Occupational First Aid and CPR Program -Targets employees in the workplace. Teaches lay rescuers CPR, how to use the AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), assess the ill or injured person, provide first aid to control bleeding and to immobilize bone, muscle and joint injuries.
Hearing Testing - on demand, for the
public or industry. Mobile Van available for on site testing or testing
at Community Medical Center, Celina.
Osteoporosis Screening - On demand.
Testing done on site by certified technicians or at community outreach
screenings.
Child Passenger Seat Inspection - Occur
quarterly with collaboration of the Mercer County Safety Coalition and
on individual basis by request through
the
OB Department.
ACS "Colorectal Cancer Awareness Presentation" - The "Ambassadors
and Allies Program" is a 30-45 minute presentation given on demand.
Provides ACS screening guidelines and information on prevention,
risk factors, tests,
ect.
Adult Volunteer Program - A rewarding
opportunity for adults to serve community
through the hospital. Training provided by Community Hospital.
ACS "Reach for Recovery" - A
Cancer Support program for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.
ACS "Sun Care/Skin Cancer Presentation" - A
30-45 minute presentation providing sun safety tips and guidelines. Utilizes
the Dermascan
for facial screening
by certified technicians.
